This is SA’s River Paradise. Enjoy our lush roses, manicured parks and garden, breath taking nature walks and wetlands, superb dining venues, river cruises and canoe adventures. Taste our local beer and wine, tour our distillery and take the time to meander the idyllic river scenery. Conveniently situated on the Renmark Riverfront – the Visitor Information Centre is home to the Paddle Steamer ‘Industry’ and offers comprehensive visitor information, gifts, local produce, theatrette, interpretive displays, event and booking service and internet access.
Founded in 1887, Renmark is Australia’s oldest Irrigation Settlement, thanks to a joint agreement between the state government at the time and the Canadian engineers George & Ben Chaffey. The brothers were instrumental in assisting to establish the system of irrigation, much of which is still in use on the Murray today. This irrigation system supports abundant horticulture and viticulture industries.
